Tierra Madre Horse Sanctuary Help-A-Horse Day

April 23
9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
27115 N. 45th St. Cave Creek AZ

Here is your chance to take part in a unique Earth Day event that benefits local animals. There will be fun events like painting, storytelling, and nature walks, all involving the horses! The event is free to get in but will be taking donations for Homeward Bound and The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. More information on the event can be found in the comments below.

Party for the Planet

April 23
7:00 AM – 10:00 AM
New River Trail

Some Earth Day events are just an excuse to eat food and get out of the house. Not this one! If you want to help clean up the New River trail, show up between 7 and 10 AM to participate.

Planetpalooza Earth Festival

April 23
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Centennial Plaza Park

Planetpalooza isn’t your standard Earth Day celebration. First, it has the best name. Second, it is huge! Bigger than the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS! It is free to the public and offers games, activities, educational opportunities, delicious food, and arts and crafts!

Mercedes-Benz Service Downtown Scottsdale

Bulk Trash Cleanup

This really Isn’t an event, but it is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint. Starting this year, Peoria will be offering bulk trash cleanup for large items that don’t fit in your garbage bin or your C-Class. This will happen twice a year and includes appliances, furniture, yard waste, and even wood.

Peoria Eighty Three (P83)

April 29 & June 3
5:00 – 10:00 PM
Peoria Sports Complex

P83 is a rock and roll festival that may not have anything to do with Earth Day but it has become a sort of staple for Peoria. On April 29th, the party will feature three 80s tribute bands. They will be covering The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Rolling Stones. On June 3rd, the party jumps forward ten years to the 90s and will cover such bands as Godsmack, Green Day, and The Foo Fighters. So get your oil changed or whatever you need to do to get there!

ParkFest

April 30
6:30 – 9:30 PM
WestWing Park

ParkFest is a free event with food, music, and fun. Like P83, it isn’t an Earth Day event, but it is worth checking out if you are going to be in the city at the end of April. If you have any questions about these Earth Day events in Peoria AZ, the comment section is your friend.

Tierra Madre Horse Sanctuary Celebrates ASPCA Help-A-Horse Day
    on Saturday, April 23, 2016

Tierra Madre Horse Sanctuary will be celebrating the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) national Help-A-Horse Day on Saturday, April 23 and competing for a chance to win up to $25,000 in grant prizes to assist with their efforts to make the best forever home for horses who literally have nowhere else to go.

What better way to celebrate than to host an Earth Day bash like no other. The theme is ‘Earth Day as seen through the eyes of a horse’. We will also be celebrating Sunny’s first birthday. Last year, we gave a ‘baby’ shower for Sunny’s mother Rain, a mustang who was saved from slaughter at the very last minute.
