Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead Service: Frequently Asked Questions

Keeping an eye on the quality of your vehicle's motor oil is crucial to the overall health of your vehicle. Routine oil changes will extend your vehicle's life and ensure optimal performance. Oil change intervals vary by vehicle, as well as your driving practices. The best way to determine how often your vehicle needs an oil change is to check the service manual. Most Mercedes-Benz models (2009-) only require an oil change every 10,000 miles or once a year. The Mercedes-Benz A Service is for a vehicle's first service (or 10,000 miles). The package features synthetic motor oil and filter replacement, fluid level checks and corrections, tire inflation check and correction and brake inspection. The Mercedes-Benz Service B Package is for a vehicle's follow-up service (or 20,000 miles) and includes synthetic motor oil, oil filter and cabin filter replacement, fluid level checks and corrections, tire inflation check and correction, brake inspection and fluid change. The exact time between services is determined by the vehicle's Flexible Service System.
Price advertised for Service A/Service B includes all factory required components. MY 2009 and newer Please refer to your maintenance booklet for the complete list of factory-required services and details on the specific intervals for your vehicle’s year and model

There are a lot of variables when it comes to determining when you should change your tires, so it's sometimes difficult to tell when you should finally replace them. First, if you notice your tires are consistently losing pressure or you notice any unusual vibrations, it's time to get them looked at. Additionally, any sort of cracks, bulges, gouges or similar on the tire's sidewall should prompt you to replace them.
The health and quality of your tires make a big impact on your vehicle's overall health, performance and safety. Not only do poorly-inflated or damaged tires negatively affect your safety and surrounding drivers' safety, tires in poor health will cost you fuel efficiency and performance.
Original and Original Extended tires are recommended by Mercedes-Benz. They advise changing them every 50,000 miles (or six years). Obviously, if you notice any damage, you should take them to your nearest Mercedes-Benz service center. For drivers near Phoenix, AZ, the Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead service center is proud to offer a Tire Center staffed by our team of trained and skilled mechanics.

While a new battery for your Mercedes-Benz vehicle won't break the bank, it's definitely a purchase you'd like to avoid making too frequently.
To ensure a longer life for your vehicle's battery, there are a few steps you can take, including limiting short rides. When your car is on for just a few minutes, your battery is unable to fully charge. Combine errands or use public transportation for quick trips. And if you don't drive often - especially in cold temperatures - a portable battery charger could be a worthwhile investment.
Other tips to ensure a long-lasting battery include not plugging in electronics when the car isn't running, making sure all the lights are turned off after the ignition is no longer running and having it tested when your car is in for other routine services.
To have your battery tested, stop in to the Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead service center!

The overall health of your Mercedes-Benz vehicle has a lot to do with the quality of the oil in your engine. As your engine oil breaks down, it becomes more and more dirty and less able to flow through your engine to lubricate and fuel the many moving parts. Old and dirty motor oil can result in your engine overheating, the build-up of sludge and more. To prevent this, it is imperative to have your oil change routinely.
Mercedes-Benz models (2010 model year and newer) only require an oil change ever 10,000 miles (or once a year) thanks to the high-quality synthetic oil that is required. Although Mercedes-Benz models require it, synthetic oil is recommended for all vehicles. It breaks down slower than standard oil and flows better at extreme temperatures. The Arizona heat is tough on engines, putting your engine oil to work.
While synthetic motor oil costs a few more dollars than conventional motor oil, it lasts longer and helps boost your vehicle's performance and lifespan. In the end, synthetic motor oil will help you save money!
When your vehicle needs its next oil change, don't forget about us at Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead. Let our knowledgeable and friendly service team take care of your vehicle today!

With a brand as luxurious as Mercedes-Benz and an area that attracts many vacationers and part-time residents, we've gotten questions about safely storing a vehicle for extended periods of time. Before leaving your car to sit for a while, there are a few measures you should take.
First, make sure your car is cleaned thoroughly from top to bottom and is free of any debris or anything that can cause moisture that will lead to rusting. Next, make sure your car is filled with gasoline. If you don't plan to drive the car for more than three months, you should add a fuel stabilizer that will help to keep your fuel lines and engine free from corrosion. For long storage, you should consider topping off all of your fluids and having the oil changed, as well.
In the Arizona heat it is also necessary to inflate your tires to the recommended maximum before letting your vehicle sit. The temperature will alter PSI as your vehicle is stored. A quality vehicle cover is also recommended while your vehicle sits. You may also want to use something like steel wool inside exhaust pipes and other intakes to keep them free from small animals.
If you have any questions regarding the safe storage of your vehicle, talk to a member of the knowledgeable Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead service team.
